My Mitsubishi DLP 57731 wont start up properly. The sound comes on but the lamp never starts. You can hear it trying to spin up (high pitched whine going up/down 3 times) and toward the end you hear a fan starting up but then a relay clicks and the whole thing turns off. This most recent attempt the lamp light came on afterwards (red). If I press reset and try it again the lamp light wont come on after it fails so Im not sure if it is the lamp itself or the lamp engine.

I recently got a HDTV from my brother but he let me know ahead of time that the lamp was in need of replacement even though the tv is only 3 years old. I just replaced the lamp yesterday and the lamp light went out. When I plugged in the TV however, the timer light immediately began flashing yellow rapidly. I looked at many forums and many said that this is due to the DP board needing repair of replacement. The thing is is that my brother who is an electronics expert, had just replaced the board on the TV. He told me to try and unplug the tv for an extended period of time than plug it back in however, it is still flashing. What is weird is the fan in the tv is on but the TV won’t turn on completely. What could possibly be the problem with the TV? Right now it’s just a big waste of space and I need to know what the heck is up with this darn TV.
My HDTV lamp just died. I have a Toshiba 72HM196 72 and according to toshiba’s website the replacement lamp is at 218 (Y-196 Lamp). Im just wondering, do you all know of any other website that might have a cheaper price? Thanks!!!
