I bought a PT40LC12 Panasonic HDTV two years ago and I have replaced the lamp three times. The first time it was replaced under manufacturer warranty. The second time it was replaced under an extended warranty that I purchased because I figured it would be cheaper to buy a warranty than to replace the television. Th extended warranty expired on 24 May 2008 )two year anniversary of my purchase) and the lamp warranty expired on 21 May. Of course the lamp exploded on 3 June. There is a class-action lawsuit filed against Panasonic regarding the lamp on my television model as well as a few others. In order to qualify for the cost of a replacement lamp, I would’ve needed to purchase a lamp within two years of purchase. I didn’t purchase a lamp, but I purchased an extended warranty. Anyhow, I can’t seem to speak to anyone at Panasonic that can help me. Does anyone know how to get a hold an executive at Panasonic?

I have a big screen, and the replacement lamp costs well over 0. Every website I go to…is there a way around that? Self repair? could I take it somewhere to be repaired?

HDTV replacement lamp question?

My HDTV lamp just died. I have a Toshiba 72HM196 72 and according to toshiba’s website the replacement lamp is at 218 (Y-196 Lamp). Im just wondering, do you all know of any other website that might have a cheaper price? Thanks!!!
