I bought a PT40LC12 Panasonic HDTV two years ago and I have replaced the lamp three times. The first time it was replaced under manufacturer warranty. The second time it was replaced under an extended warranty that I purchased because I figured it would be cheaper to buy a warranty than to replace the television. Th extended warranty expired on 24 May 2008 )two year anniversary of my purchase) and the lamp warranty expired on 21 May. Of course the lamp exploded on 3 June. There is a class-action lawsuit filed against Panasonic regarding the lamp on my television model as well as a few others. In order to qualify for the cost of a replacement lamp, I would’ve needed to purchase a lamp within two years of purchase. I didn’t purchase a lamp, but I purchased an extended warranty. Anyhow, I can’t seem to speak to anyone at Panasonic that can help me. Does anyone know how to get a hold an executive at Panasonic?

My Sony Bravia KDL46XBR2 LCD HDTV (46" LCD HDTV) screen cracked after it took a hit from a falling lamp. I paid 99 @ Fry’s Electronics. A replacement screen from Sony cost’s 69. I contacted several Sony Authorized/Certified Repair shops and they told me it wasn’t worth fixing, but they mark up the price of the part and then won’t disclose their labor rates or fees for replacements, just that they will charge me 0 to bring it in to "check it out" and then that they can’t tell me how much they charge for labor. I’m busy, I don’t have time to load a 46" 100 lb television into my car and drive somewhere so some idiot can charge me 0 to tell me that my screen is cracked, I would be the idiot in that scenario! I I’m a bright young guy, can I order the replacement screen and replace it myself? Is there somewhere that will replace it and not tell me I’m out of luck? I know it’s costly, but if the cost of the screen is half the cost of the tv and the labor isn’t 00/hr?
